The Bolling/Allerod warm phases (15,000 - 13,000 years ago) caused a partial retrat and a resettlement of northern latitudes by humans. The resulting reduced diversity in the north is evidenced today by the striking predominance of A (nearly 100%) in Eskimo-Aleut and Dene, by the high percentage (50-60%) of H and V in northwestern Europe, and by the complete loss of the minor type X and even the major type B in northern Asia. Distinctive archaeological cultures arise. |
