The migrant group which entered America was split into two areas by the glacial conditions:

One group survived in Beringia (losing the original B, C and X types) - their descendants would later become the Eskimo-Aleut and Dene-speaking peoples.

The other, larger group were the Amerinds who proceeded to colonise the Americas, arriving in Meadowcroft by about 18,000 years ago.
